Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge Announces $1.4 Million U.S. Department of Energy Grant to Case Western Reserve University

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) is pleased to announce the U.S. Department of Energy awarded Case Western Reserve University $1.4 million under the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) OPEN 2015 program.  With these funds, Case Western will develop open-source software to collect data, audit energy efficiency, and provide advice for improvements.
Congresswoman Fudge released the following statement:
“I applaud the U.S. Department of Energy for recognizing the leadership and commitment of Case Western Reserve University to spur energy innovation and congratulate the university on receiving a $1.4 million grant.  As the world looks to preserve our energy resources and combat climate change, these investments will help address our energy challenges.  Case Western is among those leading the way.  The software it will develop could enable cost-effective audits for smaller commercial buildings and help spur other energy improvements.”
The U.S. Department of Energy awarded a total of $125 million in ARPA-E OPEN 2015 program grants.  Case Western Reserve University was one of 41 projects from 21 states to receive funds.  Click here to read the Department’s release.
