CONGRESSWOMAN FUDGE RECOGNIZES AND CELEBRATES WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
March 1, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Women have played an integral role in the creation and development of our nation.  Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) encourages residents of the 11th District and throughout the nation to honor all women during the month of March, Women's History Month.

"This month, we recognize women leaders and pay tribute to their many contributions.  From gaining the right to vote to attaining higher educational levels to breaking glass ceilings in corporate America, many women have faced discrimination, opposition, and considerable barriers in their daily lives, yet they were able to overcome them.  They were pioneers who fought for greater opportunity and, as a result, led the way to progress.  There’s no doubt that women still face challenges today, but I believe we will continue on the path to equality traveled by so many women before us."
