REP. FUDGE ANNOUNCES 2012 MILITARY ACADEMY NOMINATIONS February 1, 2012
WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH - Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) is pleased to announce five outstanding students from the 11th Congressional District have been nominated for admission to our nation’s military academies:
Patricia Clarke, Beaumont High School to U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York and U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland At this date, three of the nominees, Melissa Felman, Christopher Day and Anthony Sapell have been offered an appointment by academies to which they applied. "Each year it is my privilege and honor to nominate students from the 11th Congressional District to 4 of the nation's 5 service academies. They have earned this distinction based on academic merit, leadership skills and community service. Please join me in congratulating Patricia, Ryan, Melissa, Christopher and Anthony. Their academic achievements and commitment to serve others are commendable. They are a credit to our community and to our entire nation," said Congresswoman Fudge. Congressional nominations are required for acceptance to the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. They are not required for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Nominations for the academic term commencing in the fall of 2012 are now closed.
