Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge will host a ticket drawing on December 17, 2008, in recognition of the 2008 Inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama. Karamu House has graciously agreed to provide the venue for this exciting event.
On January 20, 2008, President-Elect Barack Obama will be sworn in as our nation’s forty-fourth president. This historic ceremony will occur on the National Mall which will be open to the public. Each congressional office received tickets to the ceremony; the majority of these tickets are assigned to the standing room area. Congresswoman Fudge received over a thousand requests for these tickets. To ensure fairness, Congresswoman Fudge will allocate tickets during the Karamu House drawing.
