REP. FUDGE VOTES YES FOR AMERICAN JOBS, HUMAN RIGHTS, LABOR PROTECTIONS & NO ON TRADE AGREEMENTS October 13, 2011
"I rise today to speak about the need to keep good paying jobs in America. I voted no on the trade agreements, passed in the House last night, but I voted yes for American jobs-- jobs on American soil-- yes for human rights. Yes for labor protections. The trade agreements will cost us jobs, at a time when we should be investing in America; And they will lead to further decline of the middle class. These agreements are toxic for Ohioans who work in manufacturing, and other sectors. History shows the trade deficit is a major cause of the recession through the outsourcing of American jobs. The U.S.-Korea trade agreement alone will cost 159,000 jobs in the U.S, in its first seven years. Stand with me for the middle class, and against shipping American jobs overseas. I yield back." |
