ON THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 9/11 ATTACKS, REP. FUDGE URGES REFLECTION, A RESOLVE TO MOVE AMERICA FORWARD
September 9, 2011

"We must reflect on this tragedy while showing determination

to bring our country together. That's the best legacy to honor Americans lost in 9/11."

WASHINGTON D.C.- Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) calls on all Americans to join her in remembering the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the U.S. and recognizing the courage displayed by first responders.  Nearly 3,000 people died when al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes, crashing two of them into the World Trade Center Towers in New York City and one into the Pentagon.  A fourth plane, crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers fought hijackers for control of the aircraft. More than 400 first responders died rushing to the aid of others.

"As we commemorate the 10th anniversary of September 11, we are reminded of the terrible loss of innocent life.  Let us remember the victims and pray for the families they left behind.  Let us recall the selfless sacrifice and courage of the first responders," said Congresswoman Fudge.

"Now, we must come together as a nation and find meaningful solutions to our challenges.  That's the best legacy to honor Americans lost in 9/11.  Let's strengthen our nation for future generations."
