REP. FUDGE: TELEPHONE TOWNHALL TONIGHT ON MEDICARE
June 14, 2011

WASHINGTON, DC-- Join Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) for a telephone townhall tomorrow evening from 7 to 8 PM.  Congresswoman Fudge will answer questions related to Medicare, as well as address the proposed changes to the program in the Republican budget.

Join the conversation to learn what people around the community are concerned about.  An expert from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will also be joining the call to provide additional information about resources and benefits to constituents.

In a poll conducted over 4 weeks through an online survey and phone-in survey, the Congresswoman found that:

  • 87 % of constituents are NOT in favor of changing Medicare to a voucher system.
  • 77% chose raising taxes on people with income $250,000 and higher to fill any gap in funding for Medicare, versus cutting funding from other government programs, or requiring recipients to pay more out-of-pocket.
