REP.  FUDGE TO MEET WITH GROWING URBAN GARDEN COMMUNITY, EXPLORE POTENTIAL TO IMPROVE NUTRITION, REDUCE CHILDHOOD OBESITY

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OHIO – In recognition of Cleveland’s rapidly expanding role as a national leader in the creation of urban farms and gardens, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH11) will convene a meeting of community stakeholders on Tuesday, March 22nd at 2pm.  The meeting will take place at the Cleveland Botanical Garden in University Circle.

As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, Congresswoman Fudge is eager to listen and learn from constituents on the ground, who have vaulted Cleveland to 2nd in the nation in the number of urban gardens. The meeting will include wide-ranging discussions about their concerns and the increasing potential of urban growers to create jobs, promote healthier lifestyles and improve nutrition, especially for underserved communities.
