CONGRESSWOMAN FUDGE SPEAKS OUT ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUPPORTS PURPLE LIGHT NIGHTS CAMPAIGN
October 5, 2010

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH:  On Wednesday, October 6th at noon, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) will participate in a news conference called by the Domestic Violence Center to raise public awareness of domestic violence. Congresswoman Fudge is pleased to stand with other advocates and discuss her support for the Purple Light Nights initiative. During October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, residents and business owners in Cuyahoga County are encouraged to display purple lights to demonstrate their support for victims.

“We have a lot of work to do to break the cycle of abuse,” says Congresswoman Fudge. “We must remain vigilant and shine a light on a crime that often leaves its victims suffering in silence. Let us remember the victims who have lost their lives and help the men, women and children who continue to be at risk to live free from further harm.”
