CLEVELAND, OHIO– Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following today when the U.S. Department of Education selected Ohio as one of the winning states to be funded in round 2 of the Race to the Top program. Ohio will receive $400 million in Race to the Top funds during the next four years.
 
“This is a great day for Ohio’s kids. I’m proud  the Ohio Department of Education has taken the unprecedented opportunity to improve public education. I’m hopeful that the resulting innovation will put Ohio’s kids at the forefront of learning.

“Every child deserves a quality education. Every child deserves a way to advance economically. Since education is the only sure way out of poverty, every child deserves that chance. This infusion of resources will help Ohio kids receive deserved educational opportunities.”
