Washington – Rep. Marcia L. Fudge released the following statement regarding the passing of former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro III.

“I am saddened to hear of the passing of former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro III.  I extend my sincerest condolences to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the entire D’Alesandro family, and the Baltimore community during this time of great loss.

“Mr. D’Alesandro will be remembered as a dedicated leader and public servant.  He committed his life to uplifting the city of Baltimore and displaying courage and strength in leadership.  From his service in the U.S. Army to his time in the Mayor’s office, Mr. D’Alesandro exemplified true patriotism as he fought tirelessly for the rights of all people.  He will surely be missed.”
