WASHINGTON, DC–  Today, the United States Department of Education awarded the prestigious Blue Ribbon School designation to two high schools in Representative Marcia L. Fudge's (OH-11) Congressional District.

"St. Ignatius and Horizon Science are exemplary schools and deserving of the highest honors the Nation can offer.  I'm delighted that Secretary Duncan and the U.S. Department of Education will recognize these fine institutions as models for the rest of the country," said Rep. Fudge.

Blue Ribbon Schools are chosen based on academically superior performance or dramatic gains in student achievement. St. Ignatius High School and Horizon Science Academy, along with 17 other Ohio schools, will be honored by Secretary of Education Arne Duncan in a November ceremony in Washington, DC.
