WASHINGTON, DC–  Representative Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement after the President's remarks today on financial rescue and reform efforts .

"Many hardworking and responsible Ohioans continue to struggle financially as a result of the recession. Reform in the banking system are necessary to protect consumers from the destructive and unethical practices that brought about the economic downturn. I am fighting to make sure  financial institutions truly serve the needs of our  communities, small businesses have access to credit, and Americans have the information and financial literacy training necessary  to make educated decisions.

Only by supporting these reforms can we work toward the 'broadly shared prosperity' that President Obama spoke of today."
