Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge Statement on USDA Workers Unionizing

WASHINGTON – Rep. Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement after employees of USDA’s Economic Research Service voted Thursday to unionize amid the department's plan to relocate the agency outside of Washington, D.C.:

“USDA’s fast-tracking of its plans to relocate the Economic Research Service is without sincere consideration of how it would affect hundreds of federal employees and the critical research they provide,” said Rep. Fudge.  “Unions provide the job security and peace of mind that American workers expect and deserve.  I applaud the employees of USDA's ERS and support them in their effort to exercise their fundamental right to unionize.”
