Congresswoman Fudge Statement on Proposed Changes to Ohio Early Voting Hours
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) releases the following statement on proposed cutbacks to Ohio’s early voting hours: “It is deeply disappointing the Ohio State Legislature is once again considering restricting Ohioans’ access to the ballot box. I strongly urge the legislature to keep the Monday before election day voting and increase weekend voting hours. The right to vote is not a commodity to be traded, it is a constitutional right. Early voting is essential to the diverse voting populations across the state that include students, the elderly, urban residents and communities of color. Ohio legislators should set an example for other states and increase opportunities for Americans to vote, not create additional obstacles to the ballot box.”
