Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge Urges Colleagues to Reauthorize Critical Health Care Funding
September 28, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement today after Congress failed to reauthorize funding for Community Health Centers and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which are set to expire on Saturday, September 30:

“It is extremely disappointing Congress chose to head home today, rather than address the urgent need to reauthorize funding for Community Health Centers and CHIP.  Failure to act leaves millions of America’s children and families at risk of losing coverage and access to care.  More than 223,000 Ohio children receive coverage under CHIP, while Community Health Centers in the 11th Congressional District provide affordable health care services to 85,786 Ohioans.  I urge my colleagues to act and extend funding for these critical health programs.”
