WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers held a public hearing regarding sediment dumping in Lake Erie on March 1:

“It has been more than a year since Members of the Ohio Congressional Delegation and community stakeholders urged the U.S. Army Corps to stop sediment dumping in Lake Erie. Yet, neither public outcry nor a U.S. District Court injunction has halted the Corps’ plans. Lake Erie is the lifeblood of the Northeast Ohio region and the source of drinking water for many. We cannot afford the continuance of this dangerous practice, jeopardizing the health and well-being of Ohioans.”
