Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge Statement on President Barack Obama's New Executive Actions to Reduce Gun Violence
January 5, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement after President Barack Obama announced new executive actions to reduce gun violence:

“President Obama has taken the first step toward making our communities safer, but Congress must act to eradicate gun violence in the state of Ohio and across the nation.  Despite my urging, the Majority of the House has failed to address gun control.  Every day Congress does not act, we forfeit more innocent lives.   Comprehensive national gun policies that eliminate loopholes, expand background checks, ban assault weapons, and place limits on high-capacity magazines are long overdue.  We must act now to save our families and communities.”
