WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) releases the following statement regarding the shooting of 5-month-old Aavielle Wakefield:

“My sincere condolences to the family of 5-month old Aavielle Wakefield.   Yet again, we come together to mourn the death of another child lost to a senseless act of violence.

“How many more babies have to die before this gun violence stops? How many more children do we have to bury before we enact common sense gun control laws in America?

“Every day we hear of another shooting and the loss of innocent life. But hearing the news doesn’t get any easier. The pain and anguish we feel remains the same each and every time.

"This pervasive violence is hurting our communities. It is crippling us at our core. It must stop."
