Congresswoman Marcia Fudge Kicks off Childhood Obesity Month with the Healthy Kids Challenge September 2, 2015
WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH – To commemorate National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) will host a Healthy Kids Challenge event on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Event activities include children’s yoga, speed running tests, an obstacle course, and food demonstrations.
Five years ago, Congresswoman Fudge introduced a U.S. House Resolution designating September as National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month to raise awareness about this national epidemic. As a Member of the U.S. Committee on Agriculture, Subcommittee on Nutrition and as Ranking Member of the U.S. Committee on Education and the Workforce, Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education, Congresswoman Fudge remains dedicated to helping Ohio’s children and families get healthier and more physically active.
