U.S. Representatives Fudge and Kaptur, Port leaders give early indicators for 2015 shipping season, jobs and economic impact of Port CLEVELAND, OH – U.S. Representatives Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) and Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11), U.S. Administrator of the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation Betty Sutton, Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority President and CEO Will Friedman and other Northeast Ohio shipping, business and labor leaders, will host a major business event at the Port of Cleveland announcing early shipping numbers for the Port and highlighting the impact of the facility on the region. Rep. Kaptur’s and Rep. Fudge’s remarks will highlight the economic impact of the Port, especially on manufacturing and related industry jobs. Since 2010, bulk tonnage handled by the Port has increased approximately 82 percent. The event will be hosted at the outdoor courtyard of the Aloft Hotel, 1111 W 10th St, Cleveland, OH 44113, which overlooks the port. In the event of inclement weather, proceedings will be held under a tent on site.
