Congresswoman Fudge Will Participate in Two CBCF Annual Legislative Conference Events with Attorney General Holder, Joy Reid and Other Prominent National Figures

Washington, DC- Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge will partner with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation for their 44th Annual Legislative Conference September 25-26, 2014 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.  Congresswoman Fudge will give welcoming remarks at the 5th Annual Greek Presidents Forum and the Annual A. Leon Higginbotham Voting Rights Brain Trust with special guest U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and moderator Joy Reid of the Reid Report (MSNBC).

The 5th Annual Greek Presidents Forum will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Convention Center Room 145B.  Presidents of the National Pan-Hellenic Council member organizations will discuss the role of Greek organizations in our communities and the culture of violence in our country, among other issues.

The Annual A. Leon Higginbotham Voting Rights Brain Trust will occur Friday, September 26, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Convention Center Room 140-A. Attorney General Holder will deliver opening remarks and discuss the scope of efforts to weaken voter rights that have swept the nation.  His remarks will be followed by three 50-minute panels focusing on how progressives can continue to turn out the vote despite the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Shelby County vs Holder, which struck down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.  The moderators and panelists, as well as the three critical questions they will answer, are below.
