WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) will tour development projects in Downtown Cleveland and in the Tremont neighborhood, followed by a “Congress in Your Corner” Town Hall meeting in Tremont on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

The Congresswoman will join officials from Cleveland Development Advisors (CDA), the Cleveland International Fund, Downtown Cleveland Alliance, the Greater Cleveland Partnership and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) for a brief tour of projects funded in part with federal tax credits including New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) and Historic Tax Credits. Traveling aboard an RTA trolley, they will discuss the importance of federal funding for downtown development and the role of federal transportation funding in leveraging commercial development along the RTA Healthline Corridor.  Following the driving tour, Congresswoman Fudge will visit the construction site of “The 9”, the former Ameritrust Bank Building at East 9^th and Euclid which is a mixed-use project that is revitalizing an important downtown intersection by creating new retail, a new hotel and luxury and moderate income apartment units.

Seating aboard the trolley is limited but media who wish to join the tour may reserve one of the few available seats on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

The Congress on Your Corner Town Hall will provide constituents of the Eleventh Congressional District an opportunity to discuss federal issues of concern with Congresswoman Fudge.  The Congresswoman’s staff will also be available to assist with individual casework concerning Social Security; Medicare; Medicaid; passport and Immigration issues, Veterans issues, and other federal programs such as student loan aid, FHA and other housing programs.

2:15pm:  Trolley Tour: Boarding at West Mall Drive between Rockwell Ave. and St. Clair, Drop-off at East 9^th and Euclid (northwest corner/PNC Park)

2:30pm: Tour of the 9 begins, 2017 East 9^th Street, Cleveland, OH 44115

3:20pm:  Tour aboard the RTA Trolley resumes for a drive-by from the 9 to the Fairmont Creamery Building in Tremont.  (Media can ride the Trolley back to West Mall Drive.)

4:30 -6pm Congress on Your Corner Town Hall, OLA/St. Joseph Center,  2346 West 14^th St., Cleveland, Ohio
