CLEVELAND, OH – Yesterday, Representative Marcia L. Fudge (D-OH) met with students, teachers and school administrators at Anton Grdina Elementary and Middle School.  Pamela Smith, Chief of Staff for Superintendent Dr. Eugene Sanders of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District also attended the meetings.

As a member of the U.S. House of Representative’s Committee on Education and Labor, Representative Fudge is committed to enhancing the quality of education for all students. " I wanted to go on the front line and see and hear firsthand, the needs of the students and review the facility. Education is our most valuable resource, and we must teach our children to use this resource in improving their lives, our lives, and our community," stated Representative Fudge.

Anton Grdina teachers demonstrated their need for a new computer lab and improved technology.  The elementary school teachers collectively asked for a mandatory pre-school program which would accelerate learning curves and better prepare students for the future.

The key to success is "Parental Involvement" one teacher said. The most successful students are the ones that not only have the dedication of the teachers to the curriculum, but have the dedication of the parents who are involved with the learning process.
