WASHINGTON, D.C. – Warrensville Heights Democratic Rep. Marcia Fudge will travel on Air Force One today with President Barack Obama to East Lansing, Michigan, where Obama will sign the farm bill that Congress recently approved.

Fudge, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, worked to prevent the bill from making deep cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps, and to expand access to healthy foods. She was Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi's representative to the negotiating committee that drafted a compromise bill between measures the House and Senate initially adopted.

In a statement, Fudge said the committee" worked through immense differences to reach what I believe is a fair and balanced agreement. I am honored to see this effort through to completion with the President’s signature."

The bill signing will happen shortly after 2 P.M. this afternoon at Michigan State University's Mary Anne McPhail Equine Performance Center, Fudge's office said.Rep. Marcia Fudge will travel on Air Force One to attend farm bill signing with President Obama.
