CONGRESSWOMAN FUDGE ANNOUNCES ELEVENTH DISTRICT MILITARY ACADEMY NOMINATIONS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) is pleased to announce her nominations of Eleventh Congressional District students to the United States military and service academies for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The nominees are:

“I congratulate the nominees and all of the outstanding students who were selected as competitive alternates.  The citizens of the 11th Congressional District can be proud that we have so many talented, high achieving students who wish to serve our nation as future leaders of the armed forces.  Rules and requirements of the service academies limit how many slots are available per congressional district.  I believe all of the exceptional candidates from our district merit consideration by the academies,” said Congresswoman Fudge.

In addition to the principal nominees, 14 students were nominated as competitive alternates.  If a principal nominee does not qualify for any reason, the competitive alternates will compete for the open slot. Students may apply to more than one academy. 

The competitive alternate nominees are:

Entrance to four of the five U.S. service academies requires nomination by a Member of Congress or the Vice-President. (The Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination.)  Students who reside in the 11th Congressional district of Ohio may obtain more information and nomination application forms on Congresswoman Fudge’s website, www.fudge.house.gov.
