Congresswoman Fudge Applauds the City of Cleveland Family Health Care Day Event on November 9th at Public Auditorium

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) commends the City of Cleveland  and community partners who have teamed up to provide the public with comprehensive resources to learn about obtaining health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act(ACA).  Residents will have an opportunity to meet with trained navigators and certified application counselors at no cost and explore their options to obtain health insurance coverage at the “Affordable Care for a Healthy Cleveland” eventon Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Public Auditorium.  Public health agencies and community health organizations will come together to explain the types of health coverage offered through the Health Marketplace, Medicare and Medicaid.

“I applaud Mayor Frank Jackson and the City of Cleveland for making resources and information about health insurance options convenient and accessible through the “Affordable Care for a Healthy Cleveland” event at Public Auditorium.  Shopping for health insurance can be a daunting process for anyone.  As our nation moves forward to expand access to health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act, it is important consumers get the help they need to understand the application process through the Health Marketplace, Medicare or Medicaid. I urge my constituents to take advantage of opportunities such as the Family Health Care Day in Cleveland and invite local news media to promote awareness of assistance available in our community.”

Congresswoman Fudge would like to remind constituents that the www.Healthcare.gov website has been updated to include a “Find local help” function where consumers can get contact information for organizations certified to provide application assistance for the Health Marketplace. Individuals may also get answers to their questions and enroll for insurance in the Marketplace by phone, 1-800-318-2596.  In addition, Ohio residents may contact the Ohio Association of Foodbanks at 1-800-648-1176 for more information about the Affordable Care Act.
