WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) will host a listening session with public school superintendents in her district on Friday, April 19, 2013. At the Congresswoman’s invitation, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit the district on that date and participate in a closed-door conversation with the superintendents. Local educators will have an opportunity to present their concerns and receive an update from Secretary Duncan on President Obama’s priorities and proposals, including the budget for education. In addition, USDA Deputy Under Secretary, Janey Thornton, will join the Secretary and Congresswoman Fudge to answer any questions pertaining to school nutrition. Press availability with the Secretary and the Congresswoman will immediately follow the meeting at Corporate College in Warrensville Heights.
